Assistant Technical Officer

Our client is a subsidiary of one of the largest insurance companies in Malta, providing a comprehensive range of high-end insurance services to all types of customers. They are seeking to recruit an Assistant Technical Officer within their insurance technical unit. The unit is responsible for the technical side including Policies, Contracts and Agreements together with all Reinsurance aspects in liaison with the clients and governing bodies.


Job Description:

The assistant technical officer will form part of a unit delivering high quality service in a timely manner to clients. The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports within stipulated timeframes
  • Being conversant in regulatory requirements to fully support all clients’ needs
  • Following up on international regulatory developments
  • Acting as a reference point to staff members
  • Attending/holding meetings with clients
  • Assisting in the development of procedures
  • Performing ‘ad hoc’ tasks related to specific technical issues that arise from time to time


Requirements:
  • A Degree in Insurance or Risk Management or a comparable recognised insurance/financial qualification is preferable
  • Proficient in MS Office use
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • A team player
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A high degree of self confidence
