Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy working in the fields of Environment, Management, Design and Planning for 25 years. The company has broad experience in both small and larger scale projects in Malta, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. They are expanding and are looking for an Environmental Manager to join their growing team.
This position calls for an individual who is able to lead, willing to take on board new challenges, work on his/her own initiative, is independent, reliable and responsible; as well as ready to identify and bring to the firm new job opportunities. The chosen candidate is to be able to lead a team of specialists to file Environmental Permit Applications; conceptualize, organize and carry out environmental studies, conduct Appropriate Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments and Strategic Environmental Assessments; as well as manage the supervision of environmentally sensitive areas, building and construction sites, monitor urban and rural areas ensuring that projects are done in compliance with national legislations and regulations; whilst ensuring pollution control, waste management, recycling.
The chosen applicant will have to be capable of leading a team of planners and environmental consultants as well as identify opportunities for EU, foreign and local funded environment related projects. - Master’s Degree in Environmental Management & Sustainability MQF Level 7 or - Master’s Degree in Environmental Design MQF Level 7 or - Master’s Degree in Ecology or Earth sciences MQF Level 7 or - Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering MQF Level 7 or - An equivalent MQF Level 7 degree from a recognised University or Institution.
The chosen candidate will be a team player, inquisitive, ready to meet new challenges, be hardworking, and enjoy knowledge in the building, construction and environmental fields. Qualifications in earth sciences and/or ecology studies and/or chemistry and/or biology as well as demonstrated ability to manage projects, produce and deliver agreed results within stringent time frames, fluency in Italian and conversant with other foreign languages, as well as knowledge of funding programs are considered an asset.
